Coomera Anglican College Announces Stage 2 of Master Plan
Coomera Anglican College is proud to unveil the second stage of our Master Plan, which is designed to align with our College Strategic Intent and Purpose.
This exciting stage commenced in April 2023, with an estimated completion time of 18 months (subject to weather conditions). It will include the development of a brand-new Innovation Centre, the relocation of Secondary Art, the construction of new hardcourts, and the redevelopment of our Outside School Hours Care facilities.
Each of these projects is essential for delivering on our Master Plan and enhancing the educational experience for our students.
New Innovation Centre
One of the most exciting components of Stage 2 is the construction of a new Innovation Centre on our Secondary Campus. This four-story building, custom-designed to house our 21st-century innovation and future-focused elements, will help increase our learner attributes as we continue to educate our students with a global mindset. The Innovation Centre will be an essential component of our ongoing efforts to provide our students with the tools they need to succeed in an ever-changing world.
The new Innovation Centre (which has yet to be named) will feature numerous state-of-the-art facilities, including:
- Relocation of The Hub (Secondary Library)
- Centralization of the secondary teaching staff area
- History
- Chinese
- Creative Industries
- ICT
- Design
- Film and television
- Incubator and entrepreneurial spaces
- Canteen and Café
- Adaptable learning spaces
- A 500-seat amphitheater space
New Hardcourts
In addition to the Innovation Centre, we will also construct new Hardcourts to provide additional space for our students to engage in physical activity. These new courts will be located on the Secondary Campus and will be an important component of our ongoing efforts to promote healthy and active lifestyles among our students.
Outside School Hours Care Redevelopment
Finally, we will also be redeveloping our Outside School Hours Care facilities. This will involve a complete overhaul of the existing facilities to create a more comfortable and engaging space for our students to relax and play after school hours.
This project has been made possible thanks to specific funding from the Queensland State Government, via the Queensland Independent Schools Block Grant Authority, for the stormwater elements of the project. The majority of the funding for this project has been provided by Coomera Anglican College.
We look forward to the completion of this project and the opportunities it will provide for our students to engage in 21st-century learning."
