Frank Goldfinch Coordinator of Basketball
Frank Goldfinch boasts a distinguished legacy in basketball, marked by remarkable achievements both as a player and as a coach. Coach Goldfinch commenced at the College in 2016 as Coordinator of Basketball and has been working hard to develop the College’s Basketball Club and Academies to ensure that our players have the ability to learn the core fundamentals required to succeed and excel in the sport.
Frank's playing career includes impactful stints with notable NBL teams such as the Brisbane Bullets and Newcastle Falcons, culminating in a well-rounded and respected presence on the court. Transitioning seamlessly into coaching, Frank has become a pivotal figure in the world of basketball development, excelling in his roles as a Junior Development Manager and Head Coach for various teams. Frank’s love for the game extends beyond personal accolades; he is deeply committed to fostering talent and passion for basketball in players of all ages. With a focus on player fundamentals and a profound understanding of the sport, he has successfully initiated, implemented, and refined training programs from grassroots mini-ball leagues to senior representative teams. His approach is heavily centred on providing a strong foundation for young athletes, ensuring they are well-equipped to excel both on and off the court.
Holding qualifications as a Level 2 Coach and Level 2 Presenter in Basketball Coaching, Frank’s expertise is wide-ranging and meticulously developed. Over his career, he has been entrusted with significant responsibilities, including Head Coach roles in the Queensland Basketball League (QBL) for both the Gold Coast and Mackay teams. His tenure with the North Gold Coast Seahawks and various representative squads from U/12 to U/21 further highlights his versatility and dedication to the sport.
Frank Goldfinch’s coaching philosophy revolves around nurturing young talent, promoting growth, and preparing players for competitive success. His commitment to the development of basketball at all levels makes him an invaluable asset to any team or academy. His continued passion for passing on knowledge ensures that his influence on the game will endure for generations to come.
