Meet our Coordinator of Netball
Megan Walker Coordinator of Netball Academy
Megan Walker has been instrumental in shaping the netball culture at Coomera Anglican College since 2019. She firmly believes in the power of teamwork and a positive mindset, which she considers crucial for achieving unity and harmony within a team. This philosophy drives both individual athletes and teams to perform at their best.
Megan's extensive experience includes her role as a Development Officer at Netball Queensland, where she partnered with 20 associations to conduct coaching workshops and player development programmes. This experience provided her with a broad perspective on athlete development and the intricacies of managing diverse programmes aimed at nurturing young talent.
At Coomera Anglican College, Megan oversees the development of players from Year 4 to Year 12, focusing on training plans, wellness, and injury recovery. She leads the Opens team, coordinates programmes for 20 college teams, and spearheads coaching, umpire, and manager development. Under her leadership, the College's Netball teams have achieved remarkable successes, including notable performances in the APS, QISSN, and Vicki Wilson competitions.
Her coaching resume is impressive, with roles as Head Coach at Coomera Anglican College, and Assistant Coach for the Titans. She has also made significant contributions to the Northern Gold Coast Netball Association, Jets Netball, and Western Districts Netball Association, among others. Her achievements with these teams, ranging from state championships to league titles, reflect her dedication and expertise in the sport.
Megan possesses advanced coaching skills and is continuously working towards elite coaching certification. She is also enrolled in a Bachelor of Education with a focus on Health and Physical Education (HPE), demonstrating her commitment to ongoing professional development.
Megan Walker’s dedication, experience, and passion for netball make her an invaluable asset to Coomera Anglican College, where she continues to inspire and develop the next generation of netball stars.
