The Quiet Achievers: A Celebration of our College Volunteers

14 March 2025

At Coomera Anglican College, the spirit of dedication and commitment is embodied in our volunteers. Their immeasurable impact ranges from organising events and fundraisers to providing mentorship and guidance, creating an environment where our students can truly flourish.

What sets our parent volunteers apart is their remarkable ability to seamlessly blend into the background, keeping the spotlight firmly on our students. Whether assisting in The Pod or coordinating meals and barbecues for our Musical students, these heroes epitomise the spirit of community and teamwork.

Our volunteers are the backbone of our community"

At the core of our celebration of parent volunteers are inspiring individuals who go above and beyond, making our College an extraordinary place. Among these exceptional contributors are our beloved “Grand-CACS,” Mr Ian and Mrs Kaye Walker, whose grandchildren attend the College. Ian and Kaye’s commitment to the College community is evident in their expert coordination of sausage sizzles and their crafting of intricate crocheted bookmarks, a heartfelt touch that reaches the hands of our students. Their warm smiles and tireless efforts have endeared them to both students and staff, solidifying their place as beloved fixtures in our College community.

Acknowledging the pivotal role played by parent volunteers, Mr. Patrick Innes-Hill, our College Principal, emphasises, “Our volunteers are the backbone of our community. Their support not only enriches the lives of our students but also creates a sense of belonging for our parents and families.” The next time you attend a college event or sense the community spirit on our campus, take a moment to acknowledge our Quiet Achievers – the parent and friend volunteers. They embody the spirit of service, and unity, enriching the tapestry of our College.
