Visible Wellbeing

In 2025, Coomera Anglican College proudly became a Visible Wellbeing Partner School. This partnership marks a significant milestone in our ongoing effort to create an environment where everyone within our College community can thrive.

The Visible Wellbeing approach is designed to equip both students and staff with a comprehensive psychological toolkit. This initiative will help them lead flourishing lives by enabling them to feel and function at their best. By integrating this approach into our school culture, we aim to foster a supportive atmosphere that prioritises mental health, resilience, and overall wellbeing.

Through this partnership, our teachers will receive specialised training to seamlessly incorporate wellbeing strategies into their daily interactions and teaching practices. Our students will benefit from an increased focus on building skills that promote emotional and mental health, ultimately preparing them to face life’s challenges with confidence and positivity.

We understand that the wellbeing of our College community is a cornerstone of academic success and personal growth. We are excited about the opportunities this partnership will bring and are confident that it will enrich the lives of everyone involved.

RiSE Programme

At Coomera Anglican College, RiSE means to be Resilient, informed, Supported and Empowered. Our RiSE Programme strives to see our community flourish, by bringing you focused wellbeing events each term. These events will be a range of topical seminars and interactive sessions designed to stimulate fruitful conversations and positive change. We look forward to continuing our rich programme this year and invite you to partner with us.

Psychologists and Counsellors

With dedicated psychologists and counsellors that support all campuses, and a commitment to Mind, Heart, Soul, and Strength, we empower students to navigate changes, develop resilience, and confidently step into the wider world.

Healthroom

Our College has full-time Nurses on campus who are located in the Health Room at Student Services on the ground floor of the Administration Building on the Senior campus, assisting all children in the College from Preparatory to Year 12.

Personal Development

Our Personal Development Programme in Year 10 to Year 12 focuses on essential life skills, including Mindfulness, Wellbeing, and Cyber Safety, continuing to ensure our students' education of wellbeing is at the centre of their journey.

In the senior years, students join Pastoral Care classes within their House (Gibbs, Smith, Morris, Lane), promoting a sense of belonging and support. The House System, rooted in our four Founder’s values, further cultivates camaraderie, belonging, and pride among our students.

SchoolTV

As part of our commitment to working in partnership with parents on their children's educational journey, Coomera Anglican College provides parents with access to SchoolTV. SchoolTV is a wellbeing resource that can support you in the challenges relating to modern-day parenting.

This award-winning resource helps build relationships, foster connections, enable understanding and break down barriers to navigate a pathway towards better mental health and wellbeing for young people. It can assist in starting conversations on topics that are sometimes awkward or difficult to tackle. We encourage all parents to utilise the resources available here, particularly in relation to School Transitions, Starting at a new School, Healthy Body Series and Positive Parenting Series.

Pastoral Care
Mind, Heart, Soul and Strength

At Coomera Anglican College, we strive to cultivate a community of kind, compassionate, and resilient individuals, laying the foundation for academic success and a fulfilling life ahead.

Health and wellbeing are fundamental pillars of our education. Through a holistic approach encompassing Mind, Heart, Soul, and Strength, we nurture character, resilience, and grit in our students.

From fostering growth mindsets to promoting kindness, we aim to cultivate positive mental health, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence in every student.

Our commitment to mental health extends to providing structured social-emotional learning programs for every year level.

Our dedicated College psychologists and counsellors offer intervention and support, working collaboratively with families and external service providers to ensure a supportive environment for our students.

During Year 10, Year 11, and Year 12, when our students encounter significant changes, our Personal Development Programme equips them with essential skills, knowledge, attitudes, and perspectives. This curriculum fosters the appreciation of healthy lifestyles, cultivates responsible global citizenship, and hones vital personal development skills. Topics covered include Leadership, Study Skills, Career Planning, Financial literacy, Relationships, and more.

In addition, through diverse leadership roles and engaging co-curricular activities, Coomera Anglican College ensures comprehensive support and prepares students to confidently step into the wider world.

Our House System

Our House System plays a pivotal role in creating a sense of belonging, camaraderie, and pride among our students. Upon enrolment, every student becomes a part of one of our four distinguished houses: Gibbs, Smith, Morris, or Lane. This system has been a longstanding tradition at Coomera Anglican College and is deeply ingrained in our educational philosophy.

Our Houses are named in honour of our Four Founding Fathers, each representing a unique set of values and qualities.

  • GIBBS named after Mr Ivan Gibbs, represents Mind and Vision
  • SMITH named after Mr Ian Smith, represents Heart and Determination
  • MORRIS named after Mr Richard Morris, represents Soul and Mastery
  • LANE named after Mr Rod Lane, represents Strength and Perseverance

These Founding Fathers' principles inspire and guide our students as they strive for excellence in various facets of their lives.
